Patricia J. Wagner, CPA, MS
Founder, Owner & General Partner
Patricia J. Wagner, CPA, MS is the founder, owner, and general partner of Wagner & Associates, CPA, LLC. She started her business in 2003 and has an excellent reputation in the community. Patricia received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University in 1986 and earned her Master’s degree in Accounting from Kent State University in 1999. She has vast experience with audits, a range of which includes city, county, and HUD audits. She is licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. With over 30 years of experience in business and accounting, Patricia is a pioneering and results-driven leader, who focuses on achieving results in highly competitive environments that demand continuous improvements. She enjoys analyzing and finding solutions to difficult tax situations, whether it be lowering a client’s tax liability or resolving challenging financial issues. Patricia enjoys visiting new locations with her husband, Jim and her favorite way to travel is by cruise ship.
Nathan B. McKnight
Nathan McKnight first joined the Wagner & Associates team during the summer of 2010. Upon arrival, his energies were divided between client payroll and office management responsibilities within the firm. Nathan’s undergraduate work was completed at Bob Jones and Liberty Universities in the disciplines of Accounting and Political Science. His current educational endeavors once again find him at Liberty University where he is pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Accounting. On any given day, Nathan’s time assisting clients is divided between monthly write up, and tax and consulting services. In addition to client-related projects, his primary focus within the firm is that of firm development and management. Over the better part of the last decade, he has grown with the firm and currently serves as managing principal. Nathan loves to spend time with his wife, Erin, and their three lazy little loafers: Juliet, Scarlet, and Lincoln.
Amanda K. Girton, CPA
Amanda “Mandy” Girton, CPA began working for Wagner & Associates in 2011, just after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Bob Jones University. Early in her employment, Mandy gained an interest in accounting and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Liberty University in 2015. She recently passed her CPA exam and is now the firm’s tax principal. Mandy provides accounting services to small businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipalities. She enjoys preparing tax returns and explaining accounting basics to clients. Mandy is active in her church choir and enjoys playing in a community band with her sister, Jenny. She also enjoys cruising and is often in the middle of four books at a time.
Casey D. Cunningham
Casey Cunningham is a staff accountant at Wagner & Associates and is seeking her CPA License. Casey graduated from Towson University in May of 2016 with an accounting degree. She began interning at the office in January of 2016 and continued through tax season. Shortly after graduating, Casey became a full-time employee. Some of her responsibilities include daily deposits, writing purchase orders and checks, payroll review and monthly accounting. Her favorite part about work is her friendly co-workers, who she considers more as friends rather then co-workers. Outside of work, Casey enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony, and their two pit-bull pups, Buck and Jade.
Jenny D. Girton
Jenny Girton is the payroll coordinator at Wagner & Associates. She joined the firm in January 2015 upon graduating from Bob Jones University with a BA in History. Jenny has taken several accounting classes and oversees the data entry for all time sheets and new hire information. She also processes paychecks, direct deposits, submits payroll tax payments, and files quarter-end and year-end payroll tax forms. The highlight of her job is helping businesses solve their complex payroll situations in multiple states. Outside of work, she enjoys reading historical fiction, traveling to historical sites, and practicing the flute.
Melissa Hahn is a member of the clerical staff. With over 10 years of experience as a secretary and administrative assistant, she joined the Wagner & Associates team in March 2013 as personal assistant to Patricia Wagner. Melissa works on the “back end” of tax returns to ensure the e-file process is completed and client copies are assembled and distributed. She also handles the firm’s social media presence, aids the accountants with data entry and scanning, and assists the payroll department as needed. She likes to keep things around the office organized, and enjoys the variety of tasks she completes to support her fellow co-workers. When not at work, Melissa loves spending her time with her husband, Tim, and their three beautiful daughters: Grace, Emma, and Olivia. In any available free time, she like to read historical fiction and bake yummy treats for her family.
Anna Mae Barton
Anna Mae Barton joined Wagner & Associates in 2017 as the office receptionist. In 2003, she graduated from Crown College with an Associate in Office Administration and has over 12 years experience working in various office settings which include a summer camp, a church office and a funeral home. She will be the first person to greet you when visiting or calling our office. Anna Mae is passionate about helping people and working to meet their needs. She works alongside our clerical staff in keeping things organized and assists her fellow co-workers in keeping the office running smoothly. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Mia, traveling, and sewing.
